PokerStars EPT Barcelona And 2020 PokerStars Players Championship will be Next Year.

PokerStars Postpones their EPT Barcelona and 2020 PokerStars Players Championship to 202. There are many activities including major sporting events. There is a bigger list of events that have been canceled outright. PokerStars announced the 2020 European Poker Tour stop at Casino Barcelona in Spain and the 2020 PokerStars Players Championship will both be postponed until 2021.

Atlantic City Reopening Casinos On July 2

Due to COVID-19 pandemic for more than three months casinos were closed. Finally  Atlantic City casinos have decided to reopen on July 2 onwards. On  Monday afternoon, New Jersey governor Phil Murphy announced the reopening date. Culinary Union Files Lawsuit Against Las Vegas Casinos

In the United States COVID-19 cases have risen dramatically. The most important thing is all should be clean and safe. The Culinary Local 226 union in Las Vegas does not believe some casino properties are being responsible in the face of the health crisis and have sued several venues.  The lawsuit accuses the properties of completely dropping the ball when an employee has a confirmed case of COVID-19. They did not inform the other employees, observe disinfecting protocol, or quarantine those who had been in contact with the infected staffer.

GGPoker’s Fraught With Technical Problems

GGPoker has certainly had an exciting weekend. The first World Series of Poker Online bracelet to be awarded outside of the United States was won by Shoma pp_syon Ishikawa of Japan. But connectivity issues marred what would otherwise have been a celebratory Sunday. It caused significant slowdowns, registration problems, and loading delays across the entire GGPoker platform. Tony Dunst Wins 2020 WSOP Online Event

 

Tony Dunst won the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Event. This is Dunst’s second career bracelet. He won his first in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em in 2016. It was his third. On Tuesday night Dunst won his WSOP bracelet. It is a happy bit of coincidence also.

Banned From Twitch

Canadian professional poker player Daniel Negreanu is in internet jail.  On his Friday night stream he lost with a barrage of expletives and threats on a viewer. Twitch suspended the Poker Hall of Famers channel on Sunday. Negreanu was playing in the 2020 World Series of Poker Online Event #24.

Roberto Romanello Becomes Ninth Poker Triple Crown Winner

Welsh professional poker player  Roberto Romanello got his name on a very short list. He became the ninth player in poker history to win poker’s Triple Crown. He nabbed his first career WSOP bracelet. Romanello is also the player who had the longest gap between his first leg and last leg of the Triple Crown.

On monday part of CBRE Group’s global gaming group said  Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) is looking to sell the south Strip property. It is open to different types of deals – it could sell it completely or sell it and then rent it back.

2Rivers Got Championship

The first leg of the 2020 online WSOP has been completed on WSOP.com. This was confirmed at about 6AM Saturday morning. 2Rivers Wins 2020 Online WSOP $1000 Championship. They were able to vanquish the 1455 player field to pick up a six-figure payday. The action now moves over to GGPoker.

Three Station Casinos Poker Rooms Back On Track

Three station casinos poker rooms are reopened. Three of its Las Vegas-area poker rooms are now open. The three casino stations are Red Rock Resort, Boulder Station, and Santa Fe Station reopened. They opened at 9:00am on Monday. Red Rock is the largest of the three with 20 rooms, followed by Santa Fe Station with 14, and Boulder Station with 10.

2020 WSOP Online Main Event

The 2020 World Series of Poker Online $5,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event has only 1 day left. GGPoker has just 38 players remaining after this past weekend’s Day 2. A total of 5,082 players registered for the tournament. They are generating a $27,559,500 prize pool. This was the  largest prize pool in online poker history.

Stoyan Madanzhiev is the First-Ever WSOP Online Main Event Champion.

Stoyan Madanzhiev becomes the first-ever WSOP Online main event champion. He earned a record $3.90 Million. It was the biggest ever made in an online event. The tournament drew 5,802 entries to blow away its $25,000,000 guarantee, creating the largest tournament prize pool in online poker history: $27,559,500. Also It was the greatest victory in Madanzhiev’s career.

Live Tournament Series

During the COVID-19 pandemic Venetian Poker Room in Las Vegas is hosting a live tournament series. Tournament started  on Monday, September 7 and will run through Sunday, September 27. The first event, $250 No-Limit Hold’em SuperStack, began Monday morning and drew 268 players.

2020 is the biggest asset year to the 2020 Online WSOP. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak online tournaments worked much better than other years. It’s difficult to compare it to the “live” numbers, but it appears that the online version of the WSOP was a rather successful effort. The 2020 online WSOP Main Event certainly drew in the crowd. It tagged with a $25 million guarantee. 

Poker Players Settle With Stones Gambling Hall

Recently about 88 poker players sued Stones Gambling Hall, Justin Kuraitis, and Mike Postle. They sued them over an alleged cheating scheme. Now  More than 60 of the 88 plaintiffs who sued Stones Gambling Hall, Justin Kuraitis, and Mike Postle have entered into an “amicable settlement” with the casino. The financial terms were not disclosed. A Stones source told The Sacramento Bee that the amount paid to each person was “nominal” and more a show of “goodwill” than anything else.

PACOOP Gets Underway

The PokerStars PACOOP gets underway this Weekend.  This coming Saturday the second annual PokerStars Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP)  will begin.  Coming October 4, PACOOP will feature 50 events and $1.5 million in guaranteed prize pools, the most ever for an online tournament series in the state.

Darvin Moon Passes Away

The former World Series of Poker final tablist Darvin Moon passed away due to complications from after surgery. He was only 56 years old.  Moon is known as the lumberjack from the East Coast. He won the World Series of Poker Championship Event in 2009. He was also an  American self-employed logger. Moon earned the chip lead early in the tournament, and eventually entered the final table as the chip leader, with about 30 percent of the chips in play.

10pm Curfew for UK Casinos

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a 10pm curfew for UK casinos.  It was announced on Tuesday. The 10:00pm curfew is for pubs, restaurants, and hospitality venues.  Boris said he understood the issues this will cause, but now is the time for us all to summon the discipline, and the resolve, and the spirit of togetherness that will carry us through.

William Hill Announced New Approach

On Friday, William Hill announced that it has been approached by two different companies about a potential acquisition. On August 27 U.S. private equity Apollo Management made its first offer to William Hill. Caesars followed with multiple offers and Apollo came back with one more. The offer on the table right is for Caesars to pay 272p ($3.50) per William Hill share, making the total value of the potential takeover £2.9 billion ($3.7 billion).

World Poker Tour Latest Announcement

The world poker tour announces WPT Online India on wednesday. It is Powered by Adda52.com. This series will run in November .In feature 154 events and INR 135 million ($1.838 million) in guaranteed prize pools. The Main Event will begin on November 11. The winner of the Main Event will also receive a $5,000 WPT Passport. The CEO of the World Poker Tour Adam Pliska, said “The WPT Online venture continues to grow as part of our overall online strategy which we have found effective across the global market”.

PokerStars Implements New Feature

Online poker platform PokerStars implements cash game active waiting lists. It is essentially what it sounds like: a cash game waiting list which requires you to be actively playing to stay on it. PokerStars said, “Our goal is to provide access to what you want when you want it and to ensure an enjoyable, safe and fair experience when you get there.” About the new feature they added “We expect Active Waiting List to have many other positive effects on our community too because it will reduce the time players spend waiting for a seat in a cash game and increase the number of games running, which benefits everyone.”

GGNetwork Announces 40 Account Bans

Last day GGNetwork announced 40 account bans for using RTA software. It is a stepping up fight against players who use Real Time Assistance (RTA) software. This announcement is referred to as the RTA case that the poker community has been talking about over the last couple of weeks. Though he was not named by GGNetwork, it is understood that the player in question is streamer Fedor Kruse.

In Chicago this past weekend a new live poker tournament series was launched. It is called Midway Poker Tour . This is a great series . The $1,100 Main Event had two starting flights, one on Friday and one on Saturday. The second and final day was Sunday, with 31 players returning to chase for the title. Mike Sexton Memorabilia Benefits Poker Gives

Mike Sexton passed away in september.Family of this late Poker Hall of Famer and former announcer of the World Poker Tour, encouraged people to make memorial donations to his charitable group Poker Gives. Mike Sexton Tribute Auction will begin at midnight on Sunday. It will be for two weeks. It is provided by his family will be many pieces of memorabilia that was once owned by Sexton, compiled from all the years of his exciting life.

Encore Las Vegas Limits Hours Of Operation

Due to the reduced demand Encore Las Vegas is going to limit hours of operation. Encore at Wynn Las Vegas is starting the limited hours from next week. Wynn Las Vegas, the company that owns both casinos, announced on Tuesday that Encore will only be a part-time property beginning Monday. Its poker room will still be open every day, but it will move over to the Wynn. Limited hours of operation is due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Encore will close at noon this coming Monday and then only be open from Thursdays at 2:00pm through Mondays at 12:00pm.

Borgata Poker Room Reopening

Borgata poker room was closed a half year more than due to covid -19 pandemic. It is located in Atlantic City. Atlantic City’s once poker scene has been cruelly silent. Most of the casinos were reopened. The poker rooms have remained closed due to an abundance of caution regarding the virus. This situation is going to change from this week on, from Wednesday onwards. The Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa will reopen the poker room with precautions.

Sam Grizzle Passes Away

On monday Veteran poker pro Sam Grizzle passed away due to a massive stroke. Medical reports say the stroke was so bad that Grizzle fell into a coma with no hopes of recovering. His family took the decision to end life support. Sam Grizzle has many poker fans and players. Sam Grizzle was a classic poker character, better than anything a screenwriter could imagine. He was the guy who knew everyone and believed he was better at poker than all of them. Every poker player seemingly has a story about him, each of which ends with a laugh and a smile.

Circa Casino Opens

The first casino Circa was built from the ground-up in downtown Las Vegas in forty years. On Wednesday midnight officially it opened. Three-Week Shutdown For Casinos

Michigan Governor announced a three-Week Detroit Casino shutdown because of the increasing COVID-19 Numbers. The public health order will go into effect on Wednesday. The shutdown will affect MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Greektown Casinos. The three Detroit casinos were among the last in the country to reopen, as the city was one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring. After a long time they were allowed to reopen on August 5. Because of the increasing covid cases they decided to shut down again.
